UCI MTB Marathon World Championships
A remarkable chapter in Danish cycling was written at the Snowshoe Marathon World Championship in the United States. Simon Andreassen secured the prestigious rainbow jersey, claiming the title of World Champion with a stunning 109 km ride in just 4 hours and 33 minutes.
Following his European short track title earlier this year, this victory takes Andreassen’s career to even greater heights. Despite not being a traditional marathon specialist, the Danish rider expertly navigated a course that favoured those from cross-country disciplines, playing to his strengths.
Among the competitors were several cross-country champions, including Victor Koretzky from France, Christopher Blevins from the USA, and Spain’s David Valero. In a thrilling finale, Andreassen made his decisive move, dropping his rivals and crossing the finish line arms raised in triumph.
Congratulations to Simon and the entire support team for delivering an unforgettable victory on the world stage.
